My parents live in the sticks, and I've been keeping a close eye on when fibre is introduced to the area.
As soon as it came available I recommended they switch to it.

Now they have a faster, better internet connection than me (posting from it now) despite me living in the capital city!
I guess it's cheaper for them to dig up the roads round here...
