So I've been rewatching the X-Files. Was an old favourite of mine and still holds up well. Now I get to the point in the series of the movie. That's not on Netflix. I look at Amazon, they have it for rental/purchase for fairly stupid prices. However they have a "Buy the DVD, get the rental," feature. Cool, we'll do that. I buy it and then go to watch it...
Well no matter what I do it declares I have a "very low bandwidth" connection and streams the ass-bad version. I've done everything I can, it is on a system wired right to the cable modem, with a public IP and everything, all firewalls turned off, and so on. Speed test reports 32/16mb for connection speed. However Amazon? Naw, they can't handle more than 384k to me apparently.
I'm rather annoyed. I'm sure it is their piece of shit autodetection software. I'm fine with autodetect, but there needs to be an override. I do not want to watch this in crap quality just because they are retards.

She ate it before it was cool.
