Even qualified ahead of Derek Bell in a Porsche 962C, no kidding. After my friend's pop in sixth, there were six more guys in the class above him before the next competitor in his class shows up (13th overall). Pretty damned cool. Main event is a 45-minute race, Saturday morning before the 24h kicks off.

Was watching a bootleg live stream and they were talking about his pops in particular, with the smaller engine car and the way the C1 cars drink gas, he might end up winning the thing outright. He hasn't finished lower than 3rd overall and 1st in class at the races preceding this one.

Oh, and my friend is over there watching the proceedings live. Green with envy and simultaneously happy that my friend gets to see his dad do probably the coolest car guy thing ever.
