A pal wants to record his drums economically. He has an iMac with Garage Band, but isn't really super techie.
Do they have an analog line in? He wasn't sure. Does it vary by model? If not, do they have firewire? What's a cheaper, though decent stereo analog input for an iMac? I recommended a "live/bootleg" type stereo mic, which should be able to handle the SPL. Do those generally come with their own preamp? EDIT: found a good candidate, the Audio-Technica PRO 24 that has its own battery for non-phantom power use. Now what do I plug it into?
TIA.

"One of the things about Herman Cain is, I think that he makes that white Republican base, uh, of the party feel okay, feel like they are not racist because they can like this guy. I think he is giving that base a free pass. And I think they like him because they think he's a black man who knows his place. I know that's harsh, but that's how it sure seems to me." -- Karen Finney ========================================
