gonna electrify my detached garage this year, and it's got a crushed gravel floor. Apparently it may be cheaper to simply add racedeck than it would be to pour a new concrete floor!! I read that race crews routinely lay down racedeck over gravel, asphalt and even grass and it works pretty well. I'd have to do some work getting the floor nice and level and even first, however. Supposedly there's a fine crushed gravel mixture that you can add to existing gravel to firm it up by adding water and compressing it with some sort of machine.

Looks like racedeck might be had as cheaply as $2/sq foot. At that price, it would be $800 (garage is 20x20) for a new floor, and I know for certain that concrete would be way more than that!!

The fine crushed gravel would probably be about $40/ton and I'd need 2 tons.
