e.g. in taxation, provision of family/individual benefits, property rights, death rights
I think most legislation here now treats an unmarried gay couple as equal to a de facto straight relationship (which in turn is treated similarly to married), and this happened without much fuss or fanfare. Still no gay marriage though.
Anyway.. does anybody believe Obama's personal opinion on the issue has changed, rather than his stated policy stance?
