I believe in choising your words carefully, espically in a public office and during a sensitive time. Yes, Kerry served (as did Cat) and that does give them the right to be a bit more critical of our military and it's job. I do feel sad for Cat's generation and they way they were treated when they returned. But that still is no excuse for his words. Context or not IMHO. I do see your point though maybe not making fun but clearly putting them down as I see it. The military is the only way some kids can pay for college and that to me makes his comment in poor taste.
Paul imparted these words:
Glenn paid knowledgeworkers to transmit:
He VOTED to send the "stupid kids" over there did he not?
He then basically makes fun of them. Pretty cut and dry to me. FUCK him and the rest of there.
I want to limit congressional terms to 8 years MAX. Get all of these dead weights out, Dems and Repubs! Congress needs new (and temporary) blood!
Nayland Smith scribbled on a napkin:
...... put at the end of the string of jokes about The Dauphin this one isn't so easily misunderstood.
He was saying that if you are a doctrinaire dumbass you do a Mission Accomplished, think the combat is over in a month and end up stuck for years. There was quite a bit of laughter in the hall (which got edited out on the news) and I think the audience understood. They weren't laughing at the troops. They were laughing at Bush.
Kerry's press conference and his refusal to apologize (no reason to) have also not been covered.
So yes, it is "shit like this" but the failure is a sensationalist media and trunk magnet patriots who know this war will never effect them who are the issue here. Not Kerry.
