He was saying that if you are a doctrinaire dumbass you do a Mission Accomplished, think the combat is over in a month and end up stuck for years. There was quite a bit of laughter in the hall (which got edited out on the news) and I think the audience understood. They weren't laughing at the troops. They were laughing at Bush.
Kerry's press conference and his refusal to apologize (no reason to) have also not been covered.
So yes, it is "shit like this" but the failure is a sensationalist media and trunk magnet patriots who know this war will never effect them who are the issue here. Not Kerry.
