This all would have blown over and he'd be off the hook if he'd just apologize for the apparent misstatement, rather than trying to divert everything and say OMG BUT TEH BOOSH SHUD APPOLAEGIZE INSTEADSE!1!1! But not content to be where he is, he'd rather break out the shovel and keep digging.
How pathetic is it that we can't do better than this? Yes, Bush sucks too, DUH, I just can't believe how reliably the Dems can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. STFU and win, or open your mouth and lose. Hmmmm....tough choice.
